Every week brings a familiar sort of email. Subject lines promising “partnership opportunities” and “sponsored integration.” Offers to place articles about revolutionary cloud platforms, exchange links with VPN comparison sites, or feature backup products in return for payment. We understand why they arrive; this is how much of the internet operates. But Uptime Club does not work this way.
We Do Not Accept Advertising
We do not publish sponsored posts, advertorials, or paid placements of any kind. We do not sell links. We do not accept payment in exchange for coverage, favourable or otherwise. When VPN providers, cloud platforms, and backup solutions appear in our reviews and comparisons, they appear because we chose to include them based on editorial merit and reader relevance.
How We Work With Vendors
If your product falls within our coverage area, we will reach out to you. We initiate contact when we need clarification on pricing, access to features or infrastructure for testing, or responses to specific questions that arise during our research. This is how editorial independence works: we decide what to cover, we decide what to say, and the content remains ours.
Why This Policy Exists
Trust is the only currency that matters in this work. Readers rely on our assessments to make decisions about infrastructure that their businesses depend on every day. When a sysadmin chooses a backup tool based on our review and that tool fails a critical restore, we want to know it failed despite our honest evaluation, not because a commission influenced our recommendation. The moment commercial considerations enter the editorial process, that trust evaporates. We would rather keep the lights on through affiliate commissions on products we genuinely recommend than compromise the integrity of a single review.
